Rory Bean
Retirement Specialist
Rory Bean was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for nine years. His service included an eight-month deployment to Diego Garcia during Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. Rory began his military career working on B-52 Bombers and later cross-trained into Satellite Communications, serving in a mobile unit designed to replace NORAD in the event of a catastrophic incident.
Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Rory began working with the USDA Forest Service as a Timber Stand Improvement Specialist. During this time, he pursued an education aimed at becoming a middle and high school Math and Science teacher. However, during his coursework, he realized that many schools prioritized standardized testing over critical thinking. This discovery led him to shift his academic focus toward Wildlife Biology. After completing his studies, Rory accepted a seasonal position as a Wildlife Biologist with the Forest Service, a role he maintained until a knee injury forced him to reconsider his career path.
After being advised by doctors to find a more sedentary profession, Rory explored several industries including car sales, construction, and IT recruiting. Eventually, he found his calling in the Financial Services industry—a career path that not only accommodated his physical needs but also aligned with his passion for helping others. He began by earning his Insurance Producer License and quickly discovered a widespread need among his clients for reliable retirement planning. Seeing many individuals struggle with managing their 401(k)s, 403(b)s, IRAs, and TSPs—particularly veterans—Rory pursued additional certifications to better serve their financial needs
Throughout his diverse career, Rory has always seen himself as an educator. Whether training new Airmen in the Air Force, educating the public on forest health during his time with the Forest Service, or guiding clients through complex financial decisions, his central mission has been to help others improve their lives.
As a veteran, Rory has seen firsthand how many former service members exit the military with little understanding of how to manage their retirement savings. He believes this issue extends beyond the military, pointing to a larger failure in the American education system to teach essential financial literacy. Today, Rory finds deep fulfillment in helping veterans and others retire with confidence and security.
Raised in a churchgoing family, Rory has been attending church since the age of four. As he jokes, he had a “drug problem” as a child—he was “drug” to church twice on Sundays and again on Wednesdays, as both of his parents were active in church service. This strong spiritual foundation has remained with him into adulthood.
Rory is divorced and remarried, now happily married to his best friend and business partner, Ariel. He is the proud father of two children and a grandfather to one. Rory and Ariel enjoy riding their e-bikes, going to the shooting range, and traveling together—especially to sunny, beach-filled destinations. Their dogs are beloved travel companions, making their adventures even more enjoyable.
